Research is formalized curiosity

Research is crucial in the design process. To be able to efficiently and creatively approach a design solution you need to have an understanding of the background history first behind a brand/company/product.

I like to intensively research before I go forward with initial ideas. I like to get a feel for who I am designing for, for what I am designing and what already exists out there in this big wide world that is similar. I like to find meanings and reasons for everything and link ideas through this theoretical approach. Having strong links, influence and inspiration from design history and key designers is important.
